DECLoop does not require any sort of frequency planning, but in order to
have a reliable system with minimum cost, network planning is an
essential issue to any kind of wireless networks. Coverage analysis,
Interference analysis, Traffic analysis and Air interface analysis must
be done simultaneously. These are dependent functions with mutual
effects and doing simultaneous analysis makes network planning more
complex. The best solution is proprietary simulation tools that are
specifically designed for the communication systems to be used. There
are three stages that network planning can be used:
1) Pre-Sales planning which is a course pre-tender plan to prepare the
right LOM.
2) Post-Sales planning which is Fine plan to meet required
specifications and to optimize the Performance.
3) Future Expansion to optimize the network in future
DECSim: Network Planning Tool
BBS Access, the equipment provider for this proposed project, has
designed a state of the art in house simulator for its DECLoop WLL
equipment called DECSim. This simulator will be used for simulating
various network designs to be used in the implementation of the proposed
network.
DECSim is a powerful, fully integrated network simulation package for
design of large-scale wireless DECT based communication systems. It
integrates three simulation tools into one package that can perform
simultaneous traffic, RF propagation, and DECT air interface
simulations. It is Applicable to small as well as large-scale problems
with tens of thousands of transmitters, it is equally useful for rural
and dense urban environments.
Designed specifically for DECLoop equipment, DECSim is easily adapted
for analysis and design of any DECT based communication system. Here are
some major DECSim functionalities:
• Coverage Analysis
• Air Interface and Interference Analysis
• Traffic Analysis
Various kinds of traffic simulations, as well as air interface/RF
simulations can be performed. Some example results of these simulations
are presented here.
